Angele Toomey is a brisbane based word artist who specialises in poetry and short stories. She often finds beauty in the mundanity of modern life and feels inspired when staring into the middle distance for extended periods of time.
Her first collection, Harbour, was released in 2021. Angèle is currently working on a second collection for publication at some future time.
Before returning to her home country in early 2025, Angele was an active member of the Upper Hutt community as a member of the Whirinaki Whare Toanga Trust Board, Repair Cafe volunteer and Keep New Zealand clean up crew.
Angele’s poems have been shortlisted in the Upper Hutt Poetry Competition and she was awarded First Prize in 2023.
