Boy George, in Culture Club’s wonderful song Karma Chameleon, sang of having dreams in ‘red, gold and green’. These days my dreams of freedom and peace are set to colour scheme of yellow and blue.

Slava Ukraini!

Dream colours
The colour of hopes and dreams
Writ large as big sky thinking
over a wide ocean;

offering protection.
An open embrace
that hold in place
A call to keep alliances strong
And make right all the wrongs.

The colour of brave stoicism
And of optimism
That turns to face the tide
Knowing we can stop it if we try
There could be peace in our time
If we can hold the line.
Standing with conviction
Standing up to oppression.

Following the blue and yellow
Into a victorious tomorrow.
