Street wise

Angele Toomey Avatar

Today I am offering more found poetry today. You will probably have already found it on the motorway or your neighbourhood streets. It is the wisdom of street signs!

I have often wished that there was a simple guide book for life, one that was as easy to read as road signs. Bu alas, humans have free will and an innate ability to make even simple things like falling in love incredibly complicated! We don’t get to have a user manual for life.

I would like to thank Waka Kotahi (the New Zealand Transport Agency) https://www.nzta.govt.nz for their assistance in the creation of this poem.

And also, happy birthday R.

Directions for life
Begins
Stop
Proceed with care
Rough surface ahead
Signals do not apply
Give way
No cruising zone begins
Take next exit
Reduce speed
Ahead
Temporary
Wrong way
Do not stop for signals
Ends
.
